About the Event
To all returning members, you know what’s up, but to our new members this year, let me tell you about the first exciting SMACK Gunpla Workshop for 2022! If you don’t know what Gunpla is, it’s a line of model kits based on the many mecha from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. These extremely popular model kits don’t need glue or paint and are fully poseable figures. Every so often, SMACK runs workshops for building these kits together, and we invite you to come along! These are super beginner friendly to people who’ve never built Gunpla before, we supply all the tools you’ll need, all you need to do is bring a kit to build.
So here’s the plan: On Saturday, 23rd of April, we’ll meet outside our sponsor Zombster at Oxley at 9:45am, where if you don’t have a kit already, you can buy one there. At 10:45am we’ll take a train to Toowong for lunch at 11:00am, before arriving on campus around 12:30pm in the Hawken Engineering Building. From then until 8:30pm you’ll be able to build your kits with alongside everyone before we finish up for the night.
Make sure to come along to check it out we’ll have something screening in the background as well. It’s a fun and social day and if you have any more questions, check out the Gunpla workshop thread in current-events in our discord server and get the gunpla role in role-menu (again, on the discord) for any small updates See you there everyone!
